Meet the Team
Fiona Millward
Founder & Director
As both a veterinary physiotherapist and a horse owner who competes in dressage, I understand firsthand how devastating it is to watch your companion struggle with pain or mobility issues. That understanding drives everything I do.
I founded Fit for Function Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2024 because I believe every dog and horse deserves access to specialist rehabilitation care.
My background is in complex cases. I spent six years as part of a veterinary physiotherapy team at a small animal referral centre, treating orthopaedic and neurological patients who needed expert, careful intervention. I've also worked extensively with horses—from weekend warriors to competition horses—collaborating with vets, farriers, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes.
I'm a Level 6 qualified veterinary physiotherapist and Level 7 Masters-qualified animal nutritionist, registered with both NAVP (National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists) and RAMP (Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners). I stay current through annual CPD requirements and strictly follow their codes of conduct—because your companion deserves nothing less than evidence-based, expert care.
Outside of work, I compete in dressage up to Elementary regional level and I'm a devoted dog owner who's rarely seen without muddy boots from our countryside walks. I understand the bond you share with your animals because I live it too.
